About
I use Flickr, but started this photoblog to encourage myself to get out and shoot more - more often and more mindfully.
I’m an amateur digital photographer. I used to shoot film, but hadn’t had the SLR out of the closet for about 10 years, since I got my first pocket digital camera. Back in January 2008 I took a ‘basics of digital photography’ class and discovered that my little Canon could do much more than I thought…
In March I sold my old film camera and bought an Olympus Evolt E-510. I’m really very happy with it - having a smaller sensor (factor of 2) means smaller and lighter lenses, good for the nature and wildlife photography that most interests me. I get a kick out of learning what my camera can and can’t do, and improving my Photoshop skills.
I’m a web designer and developer by trade and anything that’s both technical and artistic catches my attention. I hope you enjoy the images I post here.
